Hole 3 – Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond is a glorious course. Built in the 1990's, it is primarily the dream of Tom Weiskopf, 1973 Open Champion. Now home to the Scottish Open Championship it features some magnificent golf holes and is set in the most beautiful surroundings. For this re-creation I've lifted the 3rd hole , a 506 yard par 5, and set it in a links context. Your drive is uphill to the crest of the fairway, a bunker waiting to gobble up anything pulled or over abmitious. The fairway then doglegs slightly left and downhill to the green, protected by a pond right and bunker left. Anything short will roll down into the gully and anything long falls off the back of the green. A hole, when played correctly, that offers a birdie.
