British Isles Golf Course
Hole 8 – Royal Troon (Old)
In truth, there was no other 8th hole I could have chosen. The 'Postage Stamp' is the stuff of legends and one oth the most celbrated golf holes in the world. At just 126 yards, a pitching wedge in benign conditions, plunging downhill to a narrow, bunker strewn green, this hole really bares it's teeth when the wind blows. Many find that the best way to play the hole is to punch a 6 or 7 iron low under the wind to keep it straight. Anything missing the green will put you in 4 or 5 territory as the bunkers are tough to escape from. |
